7 Sherman Mega is a 7-300 WSM Ackley with a .080 longer neck. The 300 WSM is the parent case though the brass is proprietary as its longer OAL than the WSM. Brass is always in stock at Sherman Wildcats as they order in large quantities and these wildcats are less known than the SAAMI cartridges. I also have extra brass in stock if they were ever out.
This is my personal rifle I just chambered a new barrel for. I've used it with the old barrel for the last 2 years as my primary hunting rifle.
The 7 Mega is the ultimate cartridge for Long Range Hunting with a blend between performance and shoot-ability. Fed out of a long action mag you've got more than enough room to run any bullet you desire.
The 190 A-Tip BC is higher than all 30 cal bullets other than the 250 a-tip and higher than most 338 bullets. Couple that with the high energy of N570 that produce great velocities and this cartridge performs above the competition! The wind drift and elevation ballistics on this combo will out perform virtually all the 30 cal cartridges with FAR less recoil.
On the 26" barrel you can expect roughly 3000fps with 190s and N570.
Dies are available from Sherman Wildcats. Barrel has 50 rounds on it currently.
We have shot elk with this combo the last 2 years at 595 yards,780, 1079 and 1136. All of them were one shot kills. The cartridge and rifle are very capable!
